Addiction is associated with various psychological factors. The present study was planned to study Obsession Compulsions in tobacco addictives. Obsession- Compulsion in Gudhakhu Users' was studied on a sample of 28 males and 28 females who use gudhakhu 3-4 times a day. Non users were also studied on a similar sample (28 males and 28 females). To measure obsession-compulsion in participants a self developed Obsession-Compulsion Inventory Screening Form was used. The results indicated that obsessive-compulsive behavior trait was found more in gudhakhu using group. It also indicated that females had more Obsession- Compulsion than males. The interaction between the genders and the user group was found insignificant in both compulsion and obsession.Keywords

Marriage is influenced by various psychological and social factors. The present study was planned to study role of maternal home attachment, support and marital problems caused due to maternal home in distressed wives. The variables were studied on a sample of 103 married females who reported marital distress. To assess the maternal home attachment, support and marital problems the scales were constructed and participants were interviewed. Multiple correlations were calculated. Positive correlation between maternal support and marital home attachment was found. The study also found that marital problems and maternal support has very less negative relationship and was not significant. No relationship between marital problems and maternal attachment was found.Keywords

The study examined the effect of social support on mental health of adolescents with sickle cell anemia. The sample of the study consisted of 200 sickle cell anemic adolescents of Chhattisgarh state, coming from age group 12 to 18 yrs. Subjects of the study were selected from those enrolled in clinics in sickle cell anemic centers, schools and other counseling centers. Data was collected with the help of self made questionnaire of general well-being scale and social support scale. The result showed that regression analysis is significant, as the R Square Change obtained R2=.868, F (1,198) = 41.280, P<0.01, which indicates the strength of model. It is observed that emotional support contributes 17.3% variance and informational support contributes 3.2% variance in mental health of sickle cell anemic adolescents.Keywords
